Welcome to CIMI Corporation's Digital Image Gallery
Below, you will find links to each of the collections presently available for viewing or purchase. Each collection is a series of thumbnails that can be clicked for a larger view of the photo. Magazine and book publishers and other purchasers of commercial images may reference the image file names in the collections to get additional information on the images or to receive a high-resolution scan of the image. We will also provide editors and image buyers a full PDF catalog of images from a given trip. Only a small fraction of the total image catalog is presented online. For inquiries, click HERE.
Prints are available from these images in various sizes, depending on whether the image is scanned or taken with a digital camera. All prints are done by a professional color service on high-quality media. Contact us for pricing and payment information.
The following is a list of sample image collections available online. Again, we invite commercial image buyers to contact us for information regarding a larger image catalog for each collection listed below. The collections consist of one or more thumbnail pages and a series of detailed images. To navigate, first find the thumbnail on the thumbnail page, and then click it to see the detailed image. To shift pages within the thumbnail views, use the back and forward arrows in the upper right corner of the page. On the detail view pages, the arrows pointing left and right will take you to the previous and next detailed image in the thumbnail page you're navigating. The arrow pointing up will take you back to the thumbnail page on which the current image is found.
Collections:
1. Polar Bears, Churchill, Manitoba. This is a collection of images from an October 2001 trip to Churchill , Manitoba , for polar bear viewing. This was shot with film.
2. Katmai Coast. This is a collection of images from our June 2002 trip to Alaska 's Kodiak Island and Katmai National Park , for brown bear viewing. The images here were taken within several miles of the site of the bear attack in October 2003, where two people were killed. This trip was also shot on film.
3. Yellowstone Winter. This image set was taken on our trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks in January 2003. An electronic book of this adventure will be available in early summer 2003. New! Our second and final group of images from this trip are now available; CLICK HERE or on the collection name above for the first set, CLICK HERE for the second! This trip was shot with a digital SLR.
4. Coastal British Columbia. This image set was taken on a magnificent voyage on Cruise West's Spirit of Columbia in April/May, 2003. New! The entire collection for this trip is now posted.
5. More Polar Bears in Churchill. This collection is from the trip we completed on November 10, 2003 , and offers our first digital images of the bears. There are many more images in this collection, but this is the only group we'll be posting.
6. Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, and Eastern Idaho in the Spring. This collection is from we completed in May, 2004. The trip returned us to Yellowstone and the Tetons, where we had visited in winter previously, and also included Craters of the Moon and other scenic locations in eastern Idaho and southwestern Montana.
7. Newfoundland. Newfoundland is perhaps the most rugged and photogenic of Canada's Atlantic provinces. These photos were taken on a trip sponsored by Natural Habitat Adventures in June/July 2004.
8. Iceland . An often-brooding northern land where the clouds create their own unique landscape, Iceland is one of the most dramatic places I've ever visited and one of the most challenging to photograph. The photos on this trip were taken in early September 2004 on a Natural Habitat Adventures tour.
9. Patagonia. Argentina is a lovely mixture of European charm and cuisine and Alaska-like scenery. Not an easy place to get to, or to get around it, Patagonia is arrestingly beautiful and a place that I'm sure I'll return to. The photos on this trip were taken in March 2005 on a Natural Habitat Adventures tour.
10. Spitsbergen . This was absolutely the most adventurous thing I've ever done! The scenery was wild, the animals wilder, and it's not every day you're closer to the North Pole than to the Arctic Circle. This is the first of two groups of shots; click HERE for the second group. The photos on this trip were taken in July 2005 on a Natural Habitat Adventures tour.
11. Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons in Fall. Our third trip to Yellowstone, and we still found new and wonderful things!
12. The Bering Sea, Aleutians, and Siberia. Cruise West and the Spirit of Oceanus took us to places no tourist has gone before, and provided a magnificent view of a truly beautiful piece of the world. This trip was taken in June of 2006.
13. Northeastern Greenland. The Professor Molchanov and Oceanwide Expeditions combine to offer us a view of a part of this planet that most people will never see. This trip was taken in September 2006.
14. Africa: South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Botswana. Our first African trip, the one that keeps us coming back for more!
15. Wild Scotland. Scotland isn't all bagpipes and peaty whiskey. Natural Habitat Adventures shows you a very wild part of Scotland, with crashing seas, neolithic sites, seals, birds...you get the picture. There are some bagpipes, of course, as well as an astonishing variety of Scotch!
16. California Wine Country. This isn't a place you'd normally associate with a cruise, but we did one nevertheless. Cruise West was our cruise line, and the trip, in October 2007, was so much fun we've decided to do further wine trips in the future.
17. Churchill 2007. We return, courtesy of Natural Habitat Adventure, to the wildlife trip we've taken the most often. Visiting Churchill's polar bears is perhaps the most accessible and dependable wildlife adventure you can have, so check this out if you're interested in taking a look at what some believe is a vanishing species.
18. The Falklands, South Georgia, and Antarctica. This is THE TRIP, the one everyone dreams of doing, and the one that now holds the record for my largest number of photos taken! Oceanwide Expeditions provides transportation to some of the most incredible experiences and sights you can imagine!
Please note that the trips below use the JALBUM image builder. When you click the link, you'll see a folder index that describes two or three classes of pictures (in the case of Japan it's Faces, Flowers, and the Journey). Clicking on one will show you the images there. Jalbum supports slide shows and other navigation features, so you should click on the "Help" link at the bottom of the folders page to learn how to use the program!
19. A Cruise of the Japanese Islands and Korea. Cruise West provides a small-ship luxury experience cruising the southern portion of the Japanese islands with a jaunt over to Korea. This is the kind of trip that will transform your view of Japan, especially if all you've seen is Tokyo.
20. Bryce, Zion, and North Rim Grand Canyon. Another Natural Habitat Adventures wonder trip! Most people never see the first two canyons, or the north rim of the Grand Canyon, and the guides on this trip were truly magnificent!
21. The Arctic: Devon, Baffin, and Ellesmere Island and Northwest Greenland. This was a Quark trip that got us to 82 degrees north, only 477 miles from the North Pole and into locations where we were the 13th ship in history to reach.
22. A Return to Africa: Three Prime Reserves in South Africa. On this second of our trips to Africa with Micato, we visit three reserves in South Africa to reaquaint ourselves with the most extravagant wildlife panorama on earth.
23. California Coast and Yosemite. Close to home and close to nature! This is a Natural Habitat Adventure trip. We're working on converting images from this trip to a YouTube slideshow video.
24. Glacier National Park. This is a wild area of Montana that extends across Canada's border to form another park. This is a Natural Habitat Adventure trip. This is also going to be a YouTube slideshow video--soon, I hope!
25. An Epicurean Cruise on the Columbia River. Wine, food, and cruising; it doesn't get any better! This was a Cruise West trip. We're developing a YouTube slide show video for this trip.
26. Baja, the Sea of Cortez, and Copper Canyon. A truly wonderful Cruise West adventure that included snorkeling and culture. We're developing a YouTube slide show video for this trip.
27. Panama and Costa Rica. You see a lot in these wonderful Central American locations, from sharks to volcanos. The birding is excellent here too. This was a Cruise West trip.
28. Seattle to Alaska's Inside Passage. This is far from our first trip to Alaska, and it was sadly and unexpectedly our last trip with Cruise West, a great company that fell prey to economic conditions. Like a bunch of other trips, we're developing a YouTube slide show video for this trip.
29. China. A Natural Habitat Adventures trip to a wonderfully different place where we learned more about China and its people in two weeks than we'd learned in our whole lives. Yes, this is another trip that we're working on pictures for. We're developing a YouTube slide show video for this trip.
30. Belize. This was another Natural Habitat Adventures trip, and we extended it to visit both Tikal in Guatamala and the wonderful Machaca Hill Resort in southern Belize. We have two slideshow videos posted in the Video section of this site for this particular trip.
31. Quito, the Galapagos, Cusco, and Machu Picchu. This was a trip originally booked through Cruise West, but Canodros in Ecuador fulfilled the itinerary when Cruise West went bankrupt. Don't be afraid of booking a trip with Canodros! They were wonderful. A video slideshow is available on YouTube and the link is in our Video section.
32. The Pantanal and Rio. Gosh, how good can you get! Another NatHab trip that exceeded our expectations.
Other collections will be added as we take the trips!
